THIS THING 5

I chose to sign up with twitter. I dont know what all the hype is so I'm just going to try it.

I think the online journals, make things a lot more personal. People post things up that you probably dont need to hear.

I might see work a little with school, or work, for announcements. I think that would be a wonderful addition.

Evil uses of twitter? Man I could think of so many, its like what before, sometimes you get to read what another is thinking/doing/saying even though it should not have been written in the first place.

Myspace is dead, but facebook is still good. I use facebook to get to know ai people more. By linking with them, I get to meet new ai students as well. Just recently, a guy added me as a friend. He is new to mn and wanted to get to know the community here. I just thought that was great, facebook is more than just a "social" social media. It can be used on a more professional level.

I honestly wouldnt use facebook to promote myself. I have my own domain and thus would never subject them to see me being crazy with friends. But I do think it is a good social medium to get to know other people who are in my field on a more social level.

Like I said already, the people you meet on facebook will know other people who may work in your career, I'll use it to my advantage.

I share most things on facebook, things I'm comfortable showing to the public. I still want to reserve personal things to myself however.

The difference between professional networking and social net working, is the fact that you have to hide some parts of who you are that you would not show in a work environment.

THING 3

Course I already visit the site, but hey it's good to be reminded that it's important. Wouldn't know how else to see my grades, financial things, etc.

I like being able to check for available resources such as the sound fx library in the library sections. I've used it already for Audio Production class.

The site is great for students because they have an amazing amount of resource available to them. Like I've said, I found the sound fx library to be one of the most useful resource.

I actually have a problem renewing my checked-out items when in the ai resource page. The system doesn't recognize me for some reason.

THING 2

RSS seems like it'll be a pretty useful tool. It makes visiting sites so much faster. Now I will actually have more time to do my homework.

I definitely can use the rss to make my personal life a little more convenient, because time is money or in my case - makes or breaks a grade.

I find the basic concept of rss pretty easy, you go to some of your regular sites, add a feed if available and you receive updated info from your them.

I use google to search for rss feeds. Gotta love it!
